eeeehhhhh.... Kiting by urself is quite frustrating and tiring... you're supposed to let the line out at least 50 feet before you pull, but if u're by urself, it sucks... u end up running, pleading for the wind to come and it never does... and right when ur kite hits the ground, this big gush of wind you just missed comes and makes you even more angrier. Poo. Oh well... the storm was about to come so I don't think Lightning will help much either.
Well the next month will be quite interesting... going back to Toronto every weekend. Priscilla's gonna be in the East Coast of Canada for the next two weeks. I remember going during my Shad Valley time in New Brunswick... and then again with a pre-dreaded vacation with my 'rents. Though I must say, the east coast is a place where it's very peaceful, and time passes by very slowly there. Peggy's Cove is one of the most beautiful spots I have ever seen in my lifetime, and I highly recommend people who want a relaxing vacation to set out there. Not to mention the whole Anne of Green Gables atmosphere (hey... I thought the story was dumb until I read it.... er.... watched it) is quite enchanting, and PEI potatoes are pretty good too. Cuz I like potatoes. Potato salad with shrimp mmmmmmm only on Family Thanksgiving Dinners... mmmmmm
Wanna welcome my good buddy Richard Lau and Lillian Ng to the Blogging community. For those of you who don't know what the abreviations of BTTR stand for, please visit his site (link to the left)... you'll definitely be in for a good laugh!

The closest I will ever get to skydiving... for now...
I caved in and went to the hobby store the other day. Kites. Do you remember the joy of flying those when you were kids? Remember how simple and fun it was to have something soar so high in the sky? I think the last time I flew my kite, I was at my old house, and I had this extremely cool black and red kite with a pattern of these fangs or such. I remember being able to just sit down and fly that kite as I laughed at the other kids running in the field to get some lift on their kites... I also remember relishing over good quality twine and reels, instead of my cheap fish wire on single handle reel.
That kite lasted until we moved to our new house in '88. No, I had no time to go fly a kite, because I was tortured with violin, theory, homework, chores and OAC chemistry. Flying a kite represented a tranquility more so than fishing. Since fishing requires one to drive hours up to a decent body of water, accompanied by an expensive boat, Kiting in my opinion is the way to go... but the two are quite similar in a way.
While the fisherman squeels over the joy of a little bite, so does a kitesman when they get their kite off the ground. When the fisherman yelps for joy as he begins reeling in his catch, so does the kitesman when their contraption catches the wind and line can be casted further into the heights of the clouds. As the fisherman displays his fish with pride, so does the kitesman, but in the air for everyone to see.
The difference is, the kite costs a day's paycheck and fishing costs a month's. Conclusion? Kiting is quite the hobby to start again. So I did. I went to the Hobby store and picked up not just one kite, but two. For kiting can be just as fun with 2 people. My backup kite is a regular 120 foot line 4 foot wingspan kite, with quite a bit of control and catch to it. Though I wasn't impressed with the "pride week" display of colours, it was the best bang for the buck.
My joy is the stunt kite I got for even cheaper. Though this baby isn't that big, you may have seen its older siblings at the beach. This two twine wind devil can do crazy loops and stunts. Pretty cool, it has a 50 foot tail that likes to follow it whereever it goes.
I was so excited I attempted to fly these kites on a rather dismal day. Conclusion? Don't go kiting if the weathernetwork says 15 km/h wind. Heck... don't trust anything on the weathernetwork anyways. There was only a glimpse of good windtime that allowed me to completely unravel all the twine in my rainbow kite... but that lasted 6 minutes in total. Canaan on the other hand had quite a bit of time with the stunt kite during the wind gust. Conclusion? Kiting can be quite a workout.

I was encouraged severely the other night. I received an email from a person who was coming to Western and was interested in attending ACF. Cool... well he got into dentistry as well! I was really blessed by knowing that for the next 4 years, there will be a brother studying along side . In a class of worldly expectations and temptations, it’s more than reassuring to know that the Lord would provide a source of strength and support! Praise him!
During these past few weeks, things have slowed down a lot. I’ve never had such a summer of reflection and intimacy with my Lord. As the final month approaches, I can’t help but thank the Lord for fulfilling many promises he told me at the beginning of my summer journey.
He promised 4 things. All these were determined if I followed his call to stay in London even though it was against all reason
1. That he would provide a meaningful job
2 He would provide financially
3. I would make huge steps in my faith and trust in him
4. He would uproot/teach and rebuke areas of my character
Well he answered in extremely clear ways.
1. Little did I know that the Lord had this wonderful job that I’m at right now at Pathways in store all along. Sometimes (like right now) I think upon what I would have sacrificed and missed out on if I hadn’t trusted the Lord that he would provide and run off to Toronto to work at the same job I’ve been at for 3 years. Not only have I been able to do what I enjoy a lot; graphic design, but I’ve been able to realistically spread his love by working with the welfare clients and teaching them computers and giving them hope. Wow... there could never be a cooler job than this. Never...
2. This was something he has just started to answer and is still going to. Dentistry is mad money. (I didn’t even know I was headed into dentistry at the beginning of the summer anyways). This job at Pathways pays a lot less than my job at Scotiabank. Well... the Lord provided financially through a bursary that I don’t quite deserve. There is no doubt that this is the Lord’s doing and not my status or accomplishments that got this.
3. Huge steps in faith and trust were gained by the waiting upon and seeking guidance during my quest for dentistry. Heck, everything that happened this summer was placed in the Lord’s trust (eventually) and well he came around and blessed it beyond what I could ever imagine. As a dear friend would say, the Lord blesses only what we give him, so if we give him everything, he will bless everything! Not just in our dreams, but in our relationships with others as well! The summer isn’t over yet...
4. He would uproot/teach and rebuke? oh boy... He has done something with my pride, my anxiety and my recklessness and my impulsivity... rebuke me he has. A lot of these are magnified when I live at home, but when I’m away and they still pop up, the Lord has been teaching me that they are independent of location and require to be worked upon by his spirit.
On top of these, the Lord has been teaching me about walking in his spirit... doing things not because I want to, but only when the Lord prompts. How different life is!!!
Beyond the scope of spiritual things, (which they still are in but... just for jokes) I’ve been prepped to wake up every morning for my freaking early classes, since I start work here at 8:00am and work my crazy hours. Not only that... my Spanish is improving as I interact more and more with Columbian clients and coworkers. Salsa and Meringue dancing is not only fun... it’s a workout!
Oh yeah... and for all you monkey fans out there:
Monito (monkey)
Bonito (cute)
yes... Bonito Monito!!!

HAHAHAHA what a jam packed weekend! Not only did Priscilla come up to visit, so did Karyn, Jessica, Cynthia, and Joe back from Cameroon!!! This crazy picture is of Jasper. We were in the backyard of Karyn's home attempting to do some lawnwork, cuz they left all their weeds growing out of control... what a mess... we weedwacked for about 3.5 hours... 5 people too!!! Friendship is a beautiful thing. It comes in handy when you need to destroy the safari that is built up in the backyard.
