Wow... looking over my past few posts, most of em have been filled with pictures and not much writing.
Ever have the feeling that you're watching your own life from the outside looking in? That feeling is growing over this year as I find my circumstances surrounding me changing at a unfamiliar pace. In reflection after a long day I find myself quite speechless as to what exactly I accomplished, yet at the same time I know that I'm headed slowly but surely on that road ahead.
For example, once I felt so adamate about treating children, now I realize I barely have any skills to deal with them in a dental chair. We had a Paediatric Dentistry lecture on Child Behaviour Management. While the whole class was spilling out answers about how to manage a child during a procedure, I had no input whatsoever. What the heck would I do if a child started screaming and running up and down the office? If I was a counsellor I'd probably clap my hands, make them stand outside or hold their recess time from them.. but as a practitioner who is supposed to be in control, what the HECK do I do? No IDEA.
It's like realizing that the strengths I used to own have now become obvious weaknesses. There is SO much to learn.
My summer has been confirmed. I will be spending it in London (my 3rd summer in 5 years!) and perhaps moving from my humble apartment that I've been hibernating in for 4 years. Wow... things are definitely changing around me...

What a weekend. I just came back from my very first Dental conference. Wowzers... talk about high class celebration. This year it was held in Montreal, Quebec. There were over 1000 dental students from across Canada. This was a wonderful chance for a few of classmates to chill, shop, dress up, chow down, train around and taxi through the sights and sounds of our favourite escape city.
This is a picture of Jesh, Derek and I after watching the Ring at his sister's apartment.
Krista n Derek attempting to stay warm in the frigid Canadian weather. Apparently the day we arrived it was -30 degrees before windchill!!!
We had the wonderful chance to shop till we dropped in some of the funnest apartment stores ever. It's weird seeing English in second order to read instead of French. Derek and Jesh acting like Mongols like usual.
This was taken from the escalator of Simon's department store. Look at those gorgeous manakins.
Jesh picked up a real sweet looking leather jacket. I call it the red Kryptonite Clark Kent (Tom Welling) jacket.
They set up these Dental games in the foyer... that's Derek about to trash Jesh in the face... over and over again.
The last dinner was held in Cafe Windsor.. an old train station turned formal banquet hall. This had to have been the most incredible venue I have ever been to. Wow. They even invited Cirque du Soleil to do some incredible acrobatic stuff and we also were entertained with a fashion show.
Ellen and I savouring a moment.
That ain't cigar smoke... it's THAT cold.
On the last night we chilled at our own floor at Club 737 (located on the 37th floor of a highrise). Derek and I preppin with highlights before heading out.
