I just finished my first wedding. I would just like to say, there are reasons to do it and reasons not to.
Reasons to: -Get to spend intimate time with the wedding party, from early morning -Get to see all the wonderful memories up close and personal
Reasons not to: -Extremely stressful, if you mess up, YOU MESS UP -Always on the run, always switching lenses, always sweating -Don't get to "enjoy" the wedding, instead you're "working"
Elaine and Bernard's wedding was very fun. They graciously invited me to start early in the morning, and they were really good sports when it came to the camera. I decided to go the whole "traditional B&W" route, daunting back to my high school darkroom days. Processing yourself has its pros and cons, such as cost versus getting dust on your negatives. Thank goodness Rob lent me his Coolscan IV negative scanner, and the resolution on it is crazy! This was a true test of the fluidity of traditional to digital. There is still one remaining bump, and that is printing of B&W digital images. Because the whole world is becoming digital, it is very difficult to find someone that can print images in pure B&W format. That means, all your prints end up with a green/blue tone, which takes away from the beauty of black and white. Anyhow, hopefully that will clear up shortly (don't want to print on inkjet).

Richard, Ben, Me and Gerrome. Just a little reunion of the old youth group crew. Rev Ben Li was our pastor at the time and a big influence to the three of us. He was around when we were in grade 7 until grade 12. A lot my character was built upon his guidance and counsel.
