If you have a moment, check this out:

There are two videos located on this website under the name: THE GATEKEEPERS Part 1 and 2. It speaks about the power that is invested unto the Native people as spiritual gatekeepers to this land as they were the original inhabitants of Canada. If there is reconciliation among this people, they will in turn effectively open up the doors for the Holy Spirit to work in Canada! It's pretty cool... check it out.

This is Scottie. We met him at a Yard Sale. He's got Hazel coloured eyes, and a real awesome ability to play with a light saber.

So aptly named, the Light House was the first place I met a Christian on the island. This store caters to Christians, providing a pretty good selection of books and devotionals, as well as gummies (mmmm) and other supplies.

This is Sam, the owner of this store. He's such a cool guy, and the way I found out about the churches here in Moose Factory.

Jesh and I had the huge priviledge of riding on the back of a Skidoo. So lucky, I got a chance to ride on motorcycle in Japan this summer, and now going at speeds of 85km/h through the bush and on the road of the reservation! It was AWESOME! I got a quick tour of Moose Factory in about 15 minutes!

This is Moose Factory Pentacostal Church. It was a real blessing to join in worship with them, listening to a brother share about knowing victory and claiming our defeat over Satan. Pretty awesome that there is a founded church. There's so much to learn from the people here. It was so cool that the congregation was actually quite multicultured.

These were a bunch of kids we met during the service at the church. They're pretty friendly and social. Sad thing is that there is a lack of good role models in the high-school / post secondary school age group. One of the kid's brother is in jail, and he's pretty much the oldest one now in the family.

The three kids jumped on the back of the truck after church. It's common here to see people riding on the back of vehicles.

This is the Anglican church of Moose Factory. It's THE oldest church established in the native community in all of ontario. It was established by The Hudson Bay Company. This is the original building (quite intact!)

This kid is so cute. She's got alot of metal in her mouth, which is a result of rampant caries and no fluoridated water. She was still laughing her head off.

There are so many dogs that run around this place. They are all very friendly but sometimes you need to be rough to play with them. It's funny how they just roam the streets and avoid cars, and how they manage to be okay in this freezing cold weather.

Day 2 - This is a shot outside our place. It's really really nice inside, we've got everything we need here and more. Tons of time to sit back and relax, watch movies, make food, and just veg. There's a ton of snow to walk through and I always get soaked one way or another going in or out.

Here's a shot outside the hospital. As you can see, we've got a LOT of snow here. I borrowed a pair of shin high boots that were 2 sizes too small for me. It was a painful trek to work. There are all these SUV's skidding all over the place. I wish I had my camera last night, as Lawrence's SUV got stuck in a ditch. We couldn't see where the road was.

The operatories here are well equipped, but chemicals and materials are kinda short. Some advanced materials are not present and we need to sometimes compromise treatment. I was doing a root canal today and the motor used to do rotary instrumentation wasn't even turning on. We had to resort to other techniques, so I learned something new today.

Jesh is hard at work doing a very complicated one surface restoration (sarcasm, it's pretty simple). He actually looks like a dentist!

This is Lawrence, one of the full time dentists here. He's a 2005 UWO graduate. One of the receptionists made this incredible cherry cheesecake! It looks like Pizza but it's actually a cheesecake. Nice treat after a day of work.

MOOSE FACTORY! My journeys up north begin today. Here Jesh and I are outside Kingston's airport, about to take that tiny plane behind us. Tons of patients need care up there.

Here we are on the tiny tiny plane. There is only 1 seat per side of the plane. And it was flapping in the wind as we landed. I thought we were going to crash. We took this plane from Kingston to Moosonee.

So here we are, putting our lives at the hands of a helicopter. Boy the ride was crazy! Jesh got to sit in the front.

And there it is. The island of Moose Factory. There's about 2500 people on the island. If you look REALLY closely, that biggest building is the hospital. This is the view from the helicopter.
